I can say that Lakshadweep and me have a perfect love story where both the partners are happy and content with each other. No matter how frequently we meet, the madness and love for each other stays afresh.
So my love story started the day when a friend of mine asked me if I had ever seen a forest vegetating deep down the sea? I was a little surprised to know of any such place but at the same I felt excited to explore Lakshadweep Tourism. What would it look like? How could I stand for so long in water without any fins or gills!
My questions were answered the day I heard Prahlad Kakkar, a famous ad film director who is also an avid scuba diver, and also runs a scuba diving school in Lakshadweep. He talked about the beauty of Lakshadweep sightseeing and the numerous adventures in Lakshadweep That was the day I first googled about Lakshadweep tourism and decided to visit it.
I was constantly thinking if I had made the right choice for my spending holidays. There were moments in the flight when my co-passengers could see me making faces to myself, sometimes happy, at times confused if I had made the right decision of visiting Lakshadweep or not(You see am very enthusiastic about choosing my travel destinations for I don’t want my hard-earned money to go in waste ).
I should accept that at times I was also calculating the number of days I will have to spend in Lakshadweep if the place is a disappointment. I was praying to god for a perfect place that Lakshadweep should be. Interestingly I have this feeling of being close to God when am travelling in plane, maybe because of flying through the clouds, a picture similar to the sets of mythological TV serials.
Anyway, my flight had landed and it was time to discover Lakshadweep for the first time. Scattered on the crystal clear waters of the Arabian sea, Lakshadweep Island was my love at first sight. I could see nothing apart from the cool serene beauty that this stunning destination had wrapped in its arms. It was like all the prayers I had made on my journey to Lakshadweep were answered in a moment.
After washing off the long plane journey and crunching some delicious food, it was time to know Lakshadweep a little better. I cannot just go on the face value (although I did, a moment ago!) and my love for Lakshadweep had to have some extra factors.
I visited some of its popular faces like the Tomb of Hazrat Ubaidullah, Kavaratti Aquarium, Buddhist Archaeological Museum, Mosques of Kavaratti and the Tuna Canning Factory. I should accept that I Lakshadweep exceeded my expectations and now finally it was time for some water sports activity.
It was time for some adventure in Lakshadweep. I was now in a boat ready to put my feet in the water. With butterflies in my stomach, I delved into water, exposing myself to the new world. The happiness was infectious. The happiness for doing or feeling something for the first time. I realised that my love was no more one-sided. Lakshadweep had responded to my feelings by offering me the world’s most precious gift of novelty, a hug filled with thrill and excitement. It was now holding my hands and taking me to the world which I always wanted to be a part of. With a promise to be back soon, I bade my adieu to Lakshadweep.
